[ Our History ]
John Wanninger, from Coon Rapids, IA. moved to Omaha, NE. and started AmeriSpec Home Inspections in 1997. Since that time, we have grown to a team of over 32 employees that has performed over 50,000 home inspections in five real estate markets which have included Omaha, NE., Lincoln, NE., Kansas City, MO., Des Moines, IA., and Dallas, TX. This makes us not only the largest inspection firm in each of those markets but also one of the largest inspection firms in the nation completing over 7,000 inspections in 2006!
Over that period of time we have made many strides which have kept us at the forefront of the home inspection industry. From techniques we use to inspect each home, to the technology used to inspect and report, to the level of customer service provided to back them up, we are a leader in each of our markets and nationwide.
[ Our Team ]
Our team is currently made up of over seven staff members, three marketing directors, four general managers/inspectors, and 18 certified inspectors throughout the states we operate in. The experience our team members gain from the numbers of inspections we perform cannot be not obtained by any one man shop inspection firm that offer to save you a buck or two on your home inspection for your life's largest investment.

[ Qualifications ]
No matter which state your new home is located, a certified inspector is recommended if not required to inspect your new home. But, a simple certification does not guarantee you a thorough home inspection, we do. Our experience ensures you that our inspectors will know not only where to look but also what they're looking at. If any condition arises that an inspector is unsure of, we have a bank of knowledge in our team of qualified inspectors to draw upon and many of which have special knowledge in various areas.
As licensing and certification are not required in all states, please ensure your inspector's qualifications to perform your home inspection in the various states.
Nebraska
Nebraska does not have any requirements for home inspectors. At AmeriSpec, ASHI certification is required of all our inspectors. This accreditation adds strength to the experience all of our inspectors are exposed to. Please visit ASHI.com for additional information regarding these certifications.
Iowa
Iowa does not require home inspection licensing either. But Iowa does have an association for inspectors that all of our inspectors are associated with.
Texas
Texas on the other hand does have licensing in place through the Texas Real Estate Commission. All of our inspectors are licensed home inspectors in the state of Texas through this board.
